Belgorod State Technological University, on behalf of VG Shukhov (BGTU), is a unique higher education institution in Russia. There are more than 65000 BGTU alumni, successfully working not only in Russian Federation companies, but also in countries near and far abroad. The Doctor of Economics, Professor SN Glagolev has been rector of BGTU since 2010.

Students and professors affectionately call this University "Tekhnolog". "Tekhnolog" has always been and continues to be the center of interest for technically gifted young people. The level of training of specialists in VG Shukhov BGTU is highly appreciated by the educational and scientific community. For many years, the University ranks first among universities of the same rank. It is among the top 100 institutions of higher education in Russia. Many disciplines occupy leading positions in the rankings of the Ministry of Education and independent experts.

The university consists of 42 departments and 9 institutes: the Architectural Institute, the Engineering and Construction Institute, the Technological Equipment and Machinery Institute, the Institute of Power Engineering, Information Technology and Control Systems, the Institute for Transport and Technology, the Institute of Economics and Administration, the Institute of Chemical Technology, and the Institute of Masters and the Institute of Distance Education.

Shukhov BGTU presents multi-level and multi-field education. There are 37 BA programs, 11 specialization programs, 27 master's programs, and 15 doctoral programs.

The study process uses interactive systems, distance access laboratories, distance learning courses, virtual learning environment that are used during the study process. Conference rooms, scientific laboratories that have modern equipment.

The strategic development program is successfully implemented at the university. It allows the creation of new units and the reorganization of existing ones, to considerably improve the logistics, infrastructure and laboratory facilities of the university. "Technolog" has become an important scientific center, where representatives of other national educational institutions carry out their research.

Today 25,000 students, including around 1,500 foreign students from Europe, Asia and Latin America are studying at VG Shukhov BGTU. Belgorod State University of Technology maintains a partnership with several leading foreign universities. BGTU teaches Russian as a foreign language and prepares foreign students for studies. Some programs give their graduates the opportunity to receive two diplomas.

It has a modern and well-equipped campus, where academic buildings, laboratories, research and production center, university library, residential buildings for teachers, dormitories, dining rooms, sports facilities are very close. Excellent preventive and health care services are provided, including a preventive and a health center. The university has a recreation center, located on the bank of the Vorskla River in the Borisov district.

For many years, the BGTU higher education training center has been working, conducting a significant number of events and services: training courses for future students, competitions and partnership programs with the "Sirius" educational center.

The technical research library has the richest fund of books: more than 1.5 million copies, which are scientific, educational literature, references, documentation of technical standards. The university's digital library is developing rapidly. It already has more than 3000 university digital publication titles. Access to Russian and international electronic educational databases is provided for teachers and students of the BSTU. More than 55,000 educational and scientific digital publications are available now.

A center for professional adaptation and job assistance was founded at the University to improve the efficiency of graduates and their adaptation to modern socio-economic conditions. Highly experienced staff provide students with information on job market vacancies, help with CV writing, organize personal growth trainings, and post student and student CVs online.

A recreation center is a center of social and cultural life. There the student can find creative teams, studios, different hobby groups to participate in and join interesting events: parties, competitions, concerts, festivals, stand-up shows and much more.

The university has excellent sports facilities, available to students: the largest stadium, tennis courts, sports fields, swimming pools. The results of the diligent work of highly qualified and experienced coaches have been the success of BGTU students in national and international level competitions.
